Sandals and slippers with footbed - never again sore and tired feet
Sandals with a footbed
While most flip-flops and sandals are very flat and offer little comfort due to the limited straps around your foot and ankle, "healthy sandals" are actually quite comfortable. These good flip-flops have a contoured footbed that provides your feet with more support. You might not notice this immediately, but you will after a (long) day of walking in them. Furthermore, sandals with a footbed often have wider straps (or more straps), which provide your feet with extra support. You'll notice this at the end of the day as well.

Shopping for a good pair of flip-flops that also look great isn't that difficult with this emerging trend. There are a few things to keep in mind, though. For example, it's best to go flip-flop hunting in the late afternoon. You'll have already spent a few hours on your feet, so they'll be a bit more swollen. This way, you can be sure your new, sturdy sandals will still be comfortable the next day.
If you have plenty of options, go for a sandal instead of a flip-flop. A sandal has one or more straps around your instep and ankle, which keeps your feet more secure in the shoe and puts less strain on them. With a flip-flop, your toes have to work hard to stay in the shoe, which tires them out more quickly.
Just like with all your other shoes, it's wise to alternate them. Wear pumps one day Or: Boots, then wear sandals or sneakers the next day. This way, you'll train different muscles each time and prevent injuries. Regularly changing your shoes isn't just good for your feet, but also for your shoes. This gives them some air and rest, which extends their lifespan.
